Associate Scientist

JOB SUMMARY

The Associate Scientist assists to accomplish specific research goals in Banyan's Product Development Laboratory. His or her duties include general laboratory support in addition to a variety of tasks, as listed below.

ESSENTIAL OPERATIONAL FUNCTIONS

  • Perform routine ELISAs and assay optimization
  • Assay automation and instrument maintenance
  • Some Western blots and antibody screening by ELISA
  • Inventory and keep track of antibody supply for product development
  • General laboratory support, such as reagent ordering and lab organization
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AND/OR EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Master's Degree with 5+ years of experience in biochemistry, immunology, or a related biomedical science field
  • Meticulous work and organizational habits with high attention to detail and the ability to strictly adhere to protocols
  • Familiar with antibody development strategies
  • Understand protein biochemistry
  • Ability to work on projects independently
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to supervise other scientist and cooperate with other departments
  • Familiar with Microsoft Windows environment (Word, Excel, Outlook and the internet)
  • Current state driver's license
  • Satisfy criminal background check and drug screening per state requirements

 



Accounts Receivable Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for performing multiple functions in Banyan s administrative department. His or her duties include performing various accounting functions. The Accounts Receivable Clerk is accountable to the Controller to meet such goals

ESSENTIAL OPERATIONAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain up-to-date billing system
  • Follow up, collection and allocation of payments
  • Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines
  • Reconciliation of accounts
  • Monitoring customer account details for non payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
  • Maintain accounts receivable customer files
  • Follow established procedures for processing receipts, cash etc
  • Prepare bank deposits
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries
  • Process adjustments
  • Organizing a recovery system and initiate collection efforts
  • Communicating with customers via phone, email, mail or personally
  • Conduct account research and analysis
  • Prepare and maintain various reports
  • Maintain an accurate aging report
  • Identify and execute the necessary process adjustments
  • Send statement to outstanding customers
  • Reconcile A/R to the G/L
  • Assist with annual audit preparation
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisors


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AND/OR EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Associate's Degree or basic college courses in Accounting or 3-5 years experience in accounts receivable and general accounting experience
  • Grant experience and/or job costing a plus
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Windows environment (Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point, and the internet)
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Candidate must be detail-oriented, self-initiator with organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within office environment
  • Satisfy criminal background check and drug screening per state requirements
  • Current state driver's license
