About the Center of Innovative Research
Banyan's Center of Innovative Research (CoIR) was established in October 2007 when Banyan Biomarkers, Inc. founders, Drs. Ronald L. Hayes and Kevin K.W. Wang joined Banyan Biomarkers full-time following productive careers in academic biomedical research. Led by these two internationally recognized scientists, Banyan's CoIR has the ability to generate important advances in the diagnosis, treatment and management of neurological disorders including traumatic brain injury and stroke.
Banyan's CoIR is supported exclusively by extramural funding including grants from the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Defense. The CoIR's cutting-edge research produces important advances in basic science and provides a rich pipeline for Banyan's initiatives in diagnostics and therapy development.
Banyan's CoIR operates within the University of Florida's Sid Martin Biotechnology Incubator (BDI) and benefits from the incubator's state-of-the-art facilities and support. The CoIR also benefits from easy access to the University of Florida's biotechnology core facility that provides protein chemistry and molecular biology services.
